What do I have to do to become a graphic designer i.e. deal with the graphic part of a video game?
I'd simply like to make video-games. I'd like to know what I have to do to have a better chance of successfully accomplishing that goal.
I'm finishing high-school in a month and I have to decide where to go next, to what college. The best major I could find is "Informatics" (i think that's how it's translated, either that or "computer science")
P.S. I live in Romania so please don't give names of colleges but rather general information, thanks.
I just did a career project on it. I don't know about in Romania, but here in high school I/you need to take as many art and computer classes as possible. Also, and two men I interviewed told me it's really important to be real-rounded in skills and studies (in school).
As for college (my mom is the president of one), you can get away with just two years. The first year (where I live, at least) take a course specificlly in graphic design, focasing in animation. The second year, art classes in general (Art history, drawing, 2 and 3D design).
Those years wouldn't get you a degree, only a diploma, but would be well respected.
