It has come to my attention that some of you guys are confused by the forum sign-up process. Let me guide you step by step!
One thing to keep in mind, there are little glitches in phpbb2, which is the forum software I am using. Sometimes you may have to login twice - this isn't just my board, I've had this
problem with many other phpbb2 boards all over the internet. Hopefully they'll fix it next patch. Sometimes things just don't go through, but that's incredibly rare. If it happens, just
resubmit. So with that in mind, here's the simple process, step by step, graphically.
I will be creating an account called Test_Acct.
Step 1) OK first you want to click on "Register" in the top right corner.
Step 2) Next you are asked to agree to some basic terms. Choose the top option if you are 13 years old or older, or the second option if you are under 13. I'm not sure what the difference is, honestly.
Step 3) OK, here's the main screen. The part circled in green is mandatory. You have to choose a username, password, and verify yourself with the little alphanumeric thingamajobby. The middle, yellow part is entirely optional, and the final, purple part, are some settings that you may or may not want to change. Finally, click Submit at the bottom of the page.
Step 4) Now you should get a confirmation of success message. Click where it says "Click Here" - optionally you can go ahead and click Login in the top right.
Step 5) Now you're ready to login! Click "Log In" in the upper right corner. You will do this each time you come to the board, unless you check "Log me on automatically each visit" on the next page.
Step 6) Now put in your username and password, check "Log me on automatically each visit" if you want a cookie to keep track of you so you don't have to login every time you return to the board.
Step 7) And finally, if everything worked out OK, you should see that you are logged in by checking to see if it gives you a "Log Out [your username]" option at the top right. If not, don't worry, normal glitch. Just repeat steps 5 through seven once more and you'll be in!
